Everybody has an opinion.
Almost nobody will bet on it.
Ask a yes-or-no question. People back a side. The side that was wrong pays the side that was right.
01 — What it is
Settle the argument with money.
Any yes-or-no question, open in thirty seconds, judged by people with their own money on the line.
One pot, two sides
The split is the odds. The lonely side pays the most.
The crowd is the oracle
No API. Someone states the result with a bond. Being wrong costs them it.
Nobody holds your money
It sits in the market's own contract until you pull it out.
02 — How it works
Five stages, start to finish.
The whole lifecycle of a market. There is nothing else behind it.
Someone opens it
A question, the judging rule, a closing date. Flat fee of 0.001 ETH.
People pick a side
Money on YES or NO until the close. 80% on YES means backing NO pays about 5×.
The result is stated
Anyone can, with a bond behind it. Unchallenged, it stands and the bond comes back.
Anyone can challenge
Post double, name another outcome, clock restarts. Wrong side loses the bond.
Winners collect
Split in proportion to what each staked. You pull it yourself, whenever.
03 — Start earning
Three ways to make money here.
Two of them don't require you to be right about anything.
Open markets and earn from all of them
You are not betting and not picking a side. You get paid for bringing the question and the crowd.
- Connect a wallet with a little ETH for the fee and gas.
- Find a question people argue about. A match, a price on a date, a vote.
- Write the judging rule tightly. Exact source, exact moment. This is the whole job.
- Close it just after the answer is knowable. 24-hour challenge window.
- Share the link. Every euro in your pot pays you 0.75%, win or lose.
Back a side
- Look at the split. The lonely side pays the most.
- Type an amount. The page shows what you'd collect before you sign.
- Confirm. Your money sits in the contract, not with us.
- Claim when it settles.
Resolve and challenge
- Find a market that just closed where you know the answer.
- State the result with the bond. Nobody objects, you get it back.
- Or catch a wrong one. Post double and state the truth.
- Take their bond. Right first keeps half of what the wrong side put up.

The project
Settlr is the pipes, not the house.
We wrote the contracts and we keep a static page online. We don't open the markets, don't take the other side, and can't touch a pot.
What is deployed
- — Change the flat fee to open a market, capped in the contract
- — Change the size of the resolution bond, capped in the contract
- — Change which address receives the platform's share
- — Decide a result only after its bond rounds are exhausted
- — Raise the settlement fee. It is a constant, not a setting
- — Touch a pot, a stake or a payout
- — Pause, censor or delete a market once it is open
- — Stop a winner from claiming
- Unaudited. Tested hard — the compiled bytecode runs through a full EVM in the test suite, and the payout the page shows is checked against what the contract pays, to the wei — but tested is not audited.
- One trusted role. If an argument burns through every bond round, a named arbiter decides. It is the only human privilege here.
- Regulation is the real risk. Markets on sport and elections are treated as gambling or derivatives in many countries.
Open a market
Ask the question.
Costs 0.001 ETH. Nobody approves it, and you earn 0.75% of every pot it takes.
Be exact. A vague rule is what turns into an argument later.
